Lehigh University’s Advanced Technology for Large Structural Systems (ATLSS) Engineering Research Center is a world-reknowned leader in research and testing for the civil infrastructure, including projects focused on full life-cycle of structural systems and materials for the infrastructure, including, for example, developing new systems and materials, assessing the condition of existing systems and materials, developing technology for assessing conditions (e.g., non-destructive evaluation and monitoring technology), understanding system and material failures, and developing technology for repairing and retrofitting existing systems. The laboratory is currently active with several research and testing programs, some of which focus on bridge-related testing and some of which focus on other research areas, including seismic testing. ATLSS is home to Lehigh University’s George E. Brown Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES) Real-Time Multi-Directional (RTMD) Equipment Site.
